The Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia)
has predicted that it is going to be a wet Thaipusam celebration on Sunday with the whole country expecting rain including thunderstorms in several areas. MetMalaysia said that one or two areas in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, east Johor and Sabah in Kudat and Sandakan is expected to face wet weather.

It has also expected rain in several areas in Perak, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan Melaka, Johor and Sarawak. While heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in one or two locations in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Sabah.
In a statement, MetMalaysia said, “Thunderstorms and heavy rain with strong winds are expected to occur in the eastern parts of the peninsula in the morning.”
