Former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin today refuted the claims of defaming former finance minister Lim Guan Eng over his remarks on the revocation of Al-Bukhary Foundation’s tax exemption. In his defence filed in the High Court yesterday to a suit filed by Lim, Muhyiddin said, “The defendant further states that the press statement should be read as a whole, taking into account the circumstances surrounding the publication.” The Perikatan Nasional chairman said that he was just explaining his position in relation to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission probe involving the Jana Wibawa programme.
