Perikatan Nasional chairman Muhyiddin Yassin today warned of a public backlash against what he called government’s “witch-hunt” against the previous administration. He accused the previous government of working to tarnish his image as well as that of PN due to the state elections to be held this year.

In a statement, Muhyiddin said, “They call us thieves and pirates so that the people will not support us, but I believe that the PN wave we have already witnessed will continue flooding the country. There will be a backlash. This is the sentiment of the people who see the government’s antics as malicious.”
He said this while debating the motion of thanks to the royal address in the Parliament.
