“Now Is On You”: Health DG’s Message Ahead Of Border Reopening From April 1

Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has shared a message for all the Malaysian ahead of the border reopening from April 1 after almost two years of closure due to Covid-19. Health DG said that a “heightened alert system” he been put in place and the situation is being monitored closely ahead of border reopening. “The onus is on you and the public to break the Covid-19 transmission,” Health DG wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Come 1st April 2022 we are reopening safely all our borders & reconnecting again. We have put in place the “heightened alert system” to monitor the situation closely so as will know when do we relax the restrictions & when do we need to reinstate them if we see cases go up again, Dr Noor wrote on social media.

Sharing a famous quote from American businessman Andrew Grove; “Success breeds complacency, complacency breeds failure,” Dr Noor said that our greatest fear is when we let our guards down.

He also urged in his message to the public to keep complying with Covid SOPs in order to curb the coronavirus cases.

Meanwhile, Malaysia Tuesday reported more than 15,200 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 4,167,418.
The country also saw a total of 62 fatalities due to Covid-19, taking the death toll to 34,905.
