PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan today announced that the Islamist party will contest using its own logo instead of Perikatan Nasional’s in the 15th general elections. The Islamist party which is in coalition with Perikatan Nasional’s will contest under its logo in three states Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah.

Takiyuddin Hassan said this at a closing ceremony for the Forestry 121 Peaks programme held at Taman Eko Rimba in Kuala Lumpur today. “We have gotten the green light from PN for PAS to use its own logo in the states under its control,” he added. Earlier on Tuesday PN chairman Muhyiddin Yassin stated that the coalition party’s have decided to contest under the PN logo.
Previously several other party’s have also decided to use their own logo and not the coalition party’s logo. For example, PKR contested using its own logo in the Johor state elections.
