PKR’s Anwar Ibrahim Tests Positive For Covid-19

PKR Chief Anwar Ibrahim tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. The 74-year-old opposition leader is the third leader diagnosed with Coronavirus after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang. Anwar’s aide said that it is believed the PKR president tested positive during the Parliament session. According to the health ministry rules, he will undergo home quarantine for seven days.

Earlier today, Lim Kit Siang’s political secretary, Syahredzan Johan, had confirmed that DAP veteran has tested positive for Covid-19. Anwar Ibrahim was among the leaders who attended DAP’s national congress yesterday, where Lim had announced his retirement from politics.

Meanwhile, previously it was reported that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has also tested positive for Covid-19. According to his son Muhammad Khalil, who is also the Batu Burok State Assemblyman, Abdul Hadi has only mild symptoms and is undergoing quarantine at home. “He is in good condition,” Awang’s son said in his statement.
