PM Pledges To Make KL “Inclusive” City, 5,000 Council Homes For Urban People

PM Ismail Sabri today vowed to make Kuala Lumpur an “inclusive” city. On the occasion of KL’s 50th-anniversary celebration, he said he will build 5,000 council homes for the urban people. The move intends to elevate the lives of low-income families and to recognise their contribution to the city’s economy. He pledged to make KL inclusive by pursuing a development plan that leaves “nobody behind.”

In a statement, Ismail said “DBKL is currently in the process of turning Kuala Lumpur into a city with zero-poverty status. To enable city dwellers to have a more comfortable life DBKL will build 5,000 council homes with a minimum area of 750 square feet to be rented out.”

These houses will be rented for RM350 to RM850 per month. The 5,000 council houses are among the “Keluarga Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Well-Being Package.” The main objective behind this is to improve the quality of life and quicker delivery of online services in the nation’s capital.

Ismail further stated that the government’s efforts will be driven by the voices and views of the people of Kuala Lumpur.
