PM Must Break His Silence On MACC Chief Corruption Case: Gobind Singh

Opposition MPs urged PM Ismail Sabri not to remain silent over corruption charges against the Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Azam Baki. Puchong MP Gobind Singh Deo said on Monday that Ismail Sabri needs to address the concerns raised. According to him, PM’s silence only proves the weakness of his ‘team’ in dealing with the problem.

“Is the Prime Minister committed to that objective and if so, how does his silence on the allegations against the Chief Commissioner in charge of the commission address this problem?.

“The Prime Minister cannot remain silent on this important matter. The MACC is under the supervision of the Prime Minister’s Department and he must be fully responsible to the MACC. Silence is an action that illustrates his weakness in addressing this problem,” he said in a Facebook post.

MACC chief Azam Baki is facing corruption charges, involving his two million shares in a private listed company.
