According to reports, the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) authorities have issued a “without release order” to prohibit the import of goods from Smart Gloves and its companies.

The order cited an investigation that suggests that the group used forced labour in its production facilities. While it also said that they have “reasonable” evidence to indicate the same.

The CBP stated that the company had violated seven out of 11 forced labour indicators set out by the International Labour Organisation, however, the details of the violations have not been revealed yet.

Two weeks ago, the CBP barred Supermax and its subsidiaries stating that it has violated 10 out of 11 forced labour indicators.
