Korean boyband BTS fans, also known as the ARMY put up a huge billboard on the roadside in the city of Gujranwala. The band has a huge fan base worldwide. Hours after installment, the political party Jamaat-e-Islami took it down and accused the band of promoting homosexuality. Assembly Candidate Furqan Aziz Butt said that the billboard was creating commotion and they received many complaints calling it inappropriate.
He said that the boyband is negatively influencing young minds and encouraging them to behave in wrong activities. He questioned why the billboard was installed in Pakistan when the band had no business there. Gujranwala Army expressed their displeasure over the incident and said that BTS has a huge fan base in Pakistan as well, adding, that they have never promoted vulgarity. Instead, politicians are ruining the country’s image.
