Kristen Stewart Couldn’t Speak For 2 Weeks Before Spencer Shoot

Twilight star Kristen Stewart has opened up about her anxiety and the pressure she felt over portraying Princess Diana in “Spencer.” She revealed that she was so nervous about her role that she couldn’t speak for two weeks before filming began. In an interview, she said “I had TMJ (temporomandibular joint disorder, in other words, her jaws stayed shut) to the point, where I was like, completely locked up.”

In Spencer, Kristen is portraying the late Princess Diana as she spends three days with the royal family during Christmas 1991, before separating from Prince Charles.

The actress admitted that she was tripping out until the shooting began, even though she had done a lot of preparation like reading all the materials and watching her interviews. She revealed how she never really followed the Royal family, but was aware of Princess Diana’s impact.

Kristen said that even though she was 7-year-old when Princess Diana died, her impact was so immense and emotional that it reached almost every person. “I tried to absorb her in an emotional and general way, and then trust the process and expect her to show up,” she added.

“Spencer” premiered at the Venice Film Festival on September 3. The movie has the effect to completely hook its viewer’s attention on the screen. Fans are even speculating that Kristen might receive an Oscar for “Spencer.”
