279 Teachers Refuse To Take Covid-19 Vaccination: Perak MB

Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad said there are a total of 369 teachers in the state, who have not received the Covid-19 vaccine yet. With schools all set to reopen from November 22, he said that out of 369, 279 teachers are refusing to get inoculated. He urged schools in the state to push all staff to get vaccinated immediately.

In a news conference, Saarani said that teachers are giving various reasons to refuse the vaccination, including that it’s their right to choose whether to get vaccinated or not.

However, he reminded that the students and teachers who have received the vaccination also have the right to feel safe and protected.

After attending the state-level teacher’s day celebration at Dewan Jubli Perak, Kuala Kangsar today, he also urged all the schools in the state to push all the staffs including the teachers to get vaccinated for their own safety.

He further reminded that the unvaccinated teachers won’t be allowed to enter the school. “They will be placed in a similar category with the teachers who are on leave due to illness,” he added.
