On the arrival of Anwar Ibrahim, the entrance leading to the market was closed with police and traffic personnel to control the traffic flow. Perak chief minister Saarni Mohamad accompanied Anwar during his walkabout session to meet the Tambun residents.

Anwar had a brief conversation with a few of the residents of the constituency and spent around 15 minutes visiting the traders and stall owners in the market. He then performed his Friday prayers at the Muhammad Al-Fateh Mosque in Taman Jati in Jelapang.
