According to reports, all these close contacts were asked to undergo quarantine in order to curb the spread of Covid-19. They were also advised to undergo screening if they experienced symptoms during the period.

The official, however, denied that the outbreak was caused by a student whose parents had just returned from performing umrah and was infected with the Omicron variant.

He further explained that it has not yet obtained the results of the Omicron variant for the sample of parents of the students.
