Comptroller of Istana Negara Royal Household Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin today announced that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has extended the date for political parties to submit the name of the coalitions forming the government along with their prime minister candidate until 2 pm tomorrow. He said King made the decision after receiving requests from the leaders.

In a statement, Ahmad Fadil said, “His Majesty also reminded everyone that the country’s administration is still running as usual under the caretaker Prime Minister based on the principles outlined for the caretaker government.”
The King has also advised the people to be patient until the new federal government is formed and the country’s 10th prime minister is appointed. This is the first time in Malaysia election history that their is no clear winner to form the new federal government.
