The Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur has granted bail of RM2 million to former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin. Muhyiddin is facing four counts of corruption to solicit bribes amounting to RM232.5 million and two counts of money laundering worth RM195 million. Muhyiddin was also ordered to surrender his passport pending disposal of his case.

For the first two charges, Muhyiddin has been accused of abusing his power and position as the country’s Prime Minister and Bersatu president by accepting RM200 million from Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd and RM1 million from Nepturis Sdn Bhd, for Bersatu.
He has also been charged for receiving money from unlawful activities amounting to RM195 million from Bukhary Equity Sdn Bhd.
