Former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin today said that the decision on whether he should remain as party president is up to the Bersatu supreme council. This comes after he was charged with power abuse and money laundering over projects launched during his term.

In a statement, Muhyiddin said, “I was elected Bersatu president by the party’s members. Now, I will leave it to the supreme Council to decide on my position.” He said this in a press conference at the Kuala Lumpur courts complex today.
He further expressed his gratitude to his supporters and urged them to remain civil and not conduct any street protest.
