Kuala Lumpur: Perak Mentri Besar Saarani Mohamad today said that executive councillors will be allocated portfolios after all the MPs have been appointed.
So far the exco members comprise of only five MPs including Umno’s Mohd Zolkafly Haru (Lintang), Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Rungkup), Dr Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin (Kampong Gajah) and Khairul Shahril Mohamed (Bota), and Bersatu’s Zainol Fadzi Paharudin (Sungai Manik).
In a press conference, he pointed out that distributing work of 10 among the five MPs would weaken the government. He said this after chairing a state executive council meeting at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.
Earlier, he said that the state executive council could not have any Chinese or Indian representatives, as the new Perikatan Nasional government does not comprise of any lawmakers from the two communities.
He further revealed that the state council has passed Budget 2021 and will table it on Wednesday.
