Twitter Deletes Mahathir Mohamad’s “Muslims’ Right To Kill” Tweet

Kuala Lumpur: Twitter today took cognizance and deleted a highly controversial tweet by former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad where he had said that “Muslim people have right to kill French.”

The social networking giant removed Mahathir Mohamad’s tweet for violating its rules.

Dr M’s tweet, condemned by many, was posted shortly after a violent knife attack in Nice, which left three people dead.

Cedric O, France’s Secretary for Digital Sector, also slammed Mahathir, saying Twitter would be an “accomplice to a formal call for murder” if doesn’t delete the tweet.

Earlier, in a shocking remark, Mahathir Mohamad had said that Muslims have a right to be “angry and kill millions of French people”.

“Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past,” the now-deleted tweet read.

Dr M further slammed French President Emmanuel Macron, saying he was blaming Islam for the killing of “insulting” school teacher.

Dr M continued what others saw a vicious rant.

“But by and large, the Muslims have not applied the “eye for an eye” law. Muslims don’t. The French shouldn’t. Instead, the French should teach their people to respect other people’s feelings,” said.
