As crypto-mania sweeps India, Bollywood stars and Indian celebrities are planning to launch their own non-fungible tokens (NFTs). People are enthusiastically trying to keep pace with growing blockchain technology, celebrities included. After Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, actor Salman Khan in his Twitter post announced that he would soon be rolling out NFTs through BollyCoin.

Amitabh Bachchan is among the first Indian actor to jump on the new trend, while his NFT includes unique and exclusive artworks like verses from his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s legendary work Madhushala, posters of his movies with his autograph on it, few rare elements related to his life have also been converted into digital artwork.Â
In June this year, India got its first NFT marketplace, which was launched by Binance-owned WazirX. Now several marketplaces including Wall.app, BeyondLife.club, Ratio, NFTically, CricketCrazy.io, Vibraniums, Bollycoin and Colexion have also joined the bandwagon.

NFT is a digital asset that represents real-world objects such as art, music, in-game items and videos. These can be bought and sold online, just like any other item and most NFT marketplaces are built around cryptocurrency, tokens, and a blockchain network.
