Dean Cain Slams DC Comics Over Superman’s Latest Bisexual Character

Actor Dean Cain, who played Superman in ‘Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman’ from 1993 to 1997, has slammed DC Comics’ bisexual character. Calling the company as “bandwagoning,” he said that the decision to make the new Superman bisexual is neither bold nor brave. DC Comics made the announcement at an annual LGBTQ awareness event, National Coming Out Day.

DC Comics on Monday revealed that John Kent, the son of Clark and Lois Lane and the heir to the Superman mantle, will be bisexual in the upcoming comic book “Superman: Son of Kal-El #5.” While many liked the idea of Superman coming out as bisexual, the former Superman Dean Cain couldn’t be more unimpressed.

In an interview with “Fox & Friends” Dean Cain said “There’s real evil in this world today, real corruption and government overreach. It had be great to tackle those issues. I’d like to see the character doing that.”

According to Cain, it would be brave if Superman fought against the political landscape and injustice currently happening in the Middle East instead of making him bisexual.

The series writer, Tom Taylor stated that apart from few trolls on social media, the majority of people have reacted overwhelmingly positively to the news. He further added that it would have been difficult ten or five years ago, but now there has been a fundamental shift in people’s mindset.
