Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today said that the appointment of cabinet members will not result in a reward for supporting the formation of his government. He said the new government frontline will have to focus on national economic development and will have to adhere to anti-corruption commitments.

In a statement, Anwar Ibrahim said that all three component coalitions namely Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional and Gabungan Parti Sarawak will be consulted before appointing Cabinet Ministers. He stressed on reducing the size of the cabinet and also deduction in their salaries.
He further said that he wants the new government frontline to support him based on his policies and commitment to good governance and his commitment to anti-corruption and to resuscitate the economy.
