The announcement of the new cabinet will not take place today, the Prime Minister Office said on Thursday. The PMO said that PM Ismail Sabri, who arrived at the Istana Negara this morning and presented a list of cabinet members, will not announce the cabinet today.
“Good day. No announcement will be made by the Prime Minister today,” the PMO said in response to media queries.
PMO did not mention any specific reason for the postponement of the cabinet announcement.

Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who replaced Muhyiddin Yassin, was sworn in as the 9th PM last week on 21 August.
He was chosen by the Malaysian King after Muhyiddin Yassin lost his majority in the parliament.
Ismail Sabri, 61, who is a lawyer by training, has already clarified that no opposition leaders will be part of his cabinet. He had said that their opinions and views of opposition leaders on policies, especially in the time pandemic will be welcomed.
