PM Announces MCO 2.0 in Five States For 14 Days From Wednesday

Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced the Movement Control Order (PKP) for a period of 14 days starting at 12.01 midnight from 13 January 2021 until 26 January 2021.

The order involves three stages of implementation, namely MCO on five states, namely Penang, Selangor, Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan), Melaka, Johor and Sabah.

Secondly, PM announced Conditional MCO on five states, namely Pahang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan.

“Meanwhile, thirdly, MCO will be implemented for the states of Perlis and Sarawak and will continue during that period,” he said in a Special Message on the Implementation of the Movement Control Order broadcast on television stations.

According to him, the states imposed by MCO are high risk states as a result of risk assessment by the MOH and the level of capability of its health services has almost reached its maximum capacity.

He further added that MOH will make a continuous risk assessment to decide whether the implementation of the PKP will be terminated or continued before the two-week period ends.
