Jakarta: An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck the Sulawesi island in Indonesia in the early hours of the morning at 2.28 am today, killing at least seven people and 24 others injured. Many individuals trapped under collapsed buildings after the deadly incident, according to local media.
According to reports, the quake also damaged part of the hospital, forcing patients to be evacuated to emergency tents outside.
Earlier it was reported that a magnitude 6.2 earthquake was detected on the Richer scale with a depth of 27 km at a distance of 143 km (km) of Palpo, Indonesia.
According to Jakarta Post, several buildings collapsed, roads were cracked and a hotel was damaged after the incident.

A video, which is being circulated on social media, shows that a girl was trapped under the rubble of the collapsed building. It was not clear where she was actually trapped after the incident.
