Kuala Lumpur: Flash flooding hit several areas of Kuala Lumpur after a downpour which began at around 5 pm.
Among the worst affected areas are Jalan Semarak, Jalan Segambut, Jalan Hang Lekiu, Jalan Keramat, and Jalan 21/26 of Taman Sri Rampai, according to a spokesman for the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations centre.
A spokesman said five areas were affected when water rose between 0.3 and one metre, while two women were trapped inside a house in Jalan Keramat.
However, they were rescued.
The heavy downpour left many trees fall to the ground that struck electric poles at Jalan Damansara and near Air Panas People’s Housing Project (PPR).
The firefighters of Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department operations centre are conducting many operations to remove uprooted trees and monitor the affected areas.
