Kuala Lumpur: Federal Territories Minister Annuar Musa asked MPs to give space to Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to lead the nation with his ways without any pressure.
Annuar, who is also Barisan Nasional secretary-general, said as far as the deputy Prime Minister’s position is concerned, it was up to the Prime Minister to allocate one or not.
He stated that Muhyiddin decided to appoint four senior Ministers instead of deputy Prime Ministers and everybody accepted it.
He said this in response to media reports over the speculations of three UMNO leaders, namely the party’s deputy president Mohamad Hasan, vice-president Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former vice-president Hishammuddin Tun Hussein being the possible candidate for the position of deputy Prime Minister.
He further said that everyone is free to give his views but this should not be seen as an inability of the Prime Minister.
